Whether you are new to Linux or just need help for a particular installation problem, The Linux ETC Company's Installation Support will help you through the process of installing a Linux distribution and associated packages on a single machine and is limited to software packages that are provided with the specific distribution.
Installation support is based on basic “how to” type answers. Specifically, Installation Support covers the following tasks:
- Hardware compatibility with various Linux distributions
- Basic hard drive partitioning
- Linux distribution installation
- X Window system configuration
- Local printer configuration
- Mouse configuration
- Network configuration
Please note that Installation Support does not include more complex custom configuration tasks for networking, security, and other Linux and open-source software applications. Nor does it include recompiling the kernel to support specific modules, drivers, and software. These tasks would be more suited to Core Linux System Support.
